A 3-day farm-based learning experience centered on indigo as plant, pigment, VAT, fiber practice, and cultural inheritance.
Rather than focusing only on the final dyed object, this weekend offers a deeper look at the full arc of indigo: how it grows, how it transforms, how the vat is built and cared for, and how these traditions continue to breathe through shared practice, experimentation, and play.
No single level of experience is required, but participants should be open to hands-on learning, outdoor farm conditions, shared practice, observation, experimentation, and conversation. This event will be ideal for:
Natural dyers
Fiber or textile artists
Farmers, land stewards, and gardeners
Educators and cultural workers
Herbalists and plant people
Artists working with memory, ancestry, agriculture, or material culture
People curious about indigo as both technique and inheritance.
